THE unstoppable machine that is Gilas Pilipinas churned out another easy win in the Southeast Asian Basketball (SEABA) Men’s Championship last night, casting aside Vietnam, 107-52.

The win was the fifth in as many games for the Philippine men’s basketball team and kept it on track of winning the regional title with one more day of competition left.

AS EXPECTED, the Philippine men’s basketball team breezed past the competition in the just-concluded 2017 Southeast Asian Basketball Men’s Championship (SEABA). Dominating was Gilas Pilipinas that it defeated its regional opponents by an average margin of 59 points in the weeklong event.

But while Gilas had it “easy” in said tournament, the SEABA nonetheless provided ample lessons for the national team which it hopes to arm itself with as it takes on bigger challenges ahead.

Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Dorian Peña was arrested Wednesday along with two companions during a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) entrapment operation in Mandaluyong City.

The 39-year-old Peña, who played for several PBA teams, was taken to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for inquest proceedings along with Ledy Mae Vilchez and Jose Paolo Ampeso yesterday.
