The same cannot be said for the co-main event, as Alexa Grasso was well over the strawweight limit, weighing 119 pounds. Her opponent, Randa Markos, came in at 116, and she’ll also be receiving 20% of Grasso’s purse.

The UFC Mexico City co-main event saw Alexa Grasso pick up the split decision victory over the UFC’s #9 ranked strawweight Randa Markos. Both competitors went right after each other, with each finding success in the opening round with their strikes. Markos found her stride in the second stanza, as she was able to take down her opponent and unleash some unanswered ground strikes. Grasso would rally late in the final round, coming alive with her boxing down the stretch, to ultimately earn the hard fought victory over a ranked opponent.

Jon Jones is back at the top of the heap in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings.

The king has re-taken his throne. Jon Jones, the longtime chart-topper in the pound-for-pound rankings and the light heavyweight division, has taken back both of those elite spots with his third-round stoppage win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. He became the first man to stop fellow P4P-ranked Cormier, and that was enough to push by Demetrious Johnson for the number one position again.
