Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman says he’s healthy once again and ready to make an announcement for his next fight in a “few weeks” from now for his comeback fight later this year. Thurman (28-0, 2 KOs) has had an injury problem with his right elbow as well as a bone bruise to his hand. Both problems have cleared up, and he’s waiting for the approval from his doctor to return to the ring.

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 7, 2018) - Maxim “Mad Max” Dadashev suffered a torn bicep in training and has been forced to postpone his originally scheduled Sept. 14 NABF super lightweight title defense against Antonio DeMarco. Jamel Herring versus John Vincent Moralde for the vacant USBA junior lightweight title has been elevated to the ESPN-televised co-feature underneath Jose Ramirez’s WBC super lightweight title defense against Antonio Orozco at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif.

Shawn Porter (29-2-1, 17 KOs) started off slowly in the first four rounds but then came on in the second half to defeat former two division world champion Danny Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision to win the vacant World Boxing Council welterweight title on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The judges scored it 116-111, 115-113 and 115-113. Boxing News 24 scored it for Porter by a 117-111 score. Porter boxed Garcia in the first quarter of the fight. As you would expect, Porter wasn’t effective when he was boxing Garcia. After the fourth, Porter made adjustments by mauling Garcia and working his midsection on the inside.

Amir Khan says he was surprised that referee Terry O’Connor didn’t step in and stop his fight with Samuel Vargas after he knocked him down and had him hurt on Saturday night in their bout at the Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, UK.

Khan said after the fight that he had intentionally allowed Vargas to survive when he had him hurt. Vargas had Khan hurt, and it looked like he was fighting for survival after round 7. Khan faded badly in the second half of the fight and he was unable to muster he energy and power on his shots to hurt Vargas.

(Sept. 4, 2018) — Tim Tszyu and Andrew “The Monster” Moloney will take center stage on the next edition of “Breakfast and Boxing” on Saturday, Sept. 8. at the new Bendigo Stadium in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. In the 10-round main event, 154-pound prospect Tszyu (10-0, 8 KOs), will face his toughest test to date against Marcos Jesus Cornejo (19-3, 18 KOs).

In the co-feature Moloney (17-0, 10 KOs), ranked in the top 10 by all four major sanctioning bodies at 115 pounds, will defend the WBA Oceania super flyweight belt in a 10-rounder against former WBA super flyweight world champion Luis “El Nica” Concepción (37-6, 26 KOs).

Amir Khan can’t seem to keep his mind on the task at hand with his fight this Saturday night against Saul Vargas. Khan has his sights set on a stadium fight against either Manny Pacquiao or Kell Brook. Khan’s fight against Vargas will lead to a big fight against one of those two. It’s up to Khan which of the two that he wants to face.

Senator Manny Pacquiao made his much-awaited appearance on Monday as the Senate Defenders opened their title-retention bid on a high note and pulled off a 73-70 thriller over Philippine International Trading Corporation Global Traders in the 7th UNTV Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Though the fighting senator buried two triples right in the first quarter, the Defenders trailed three-fourths of the way before coming through with a whirlwind finish to frustrate the debuting Global Traders.

Sergiy Derevyancnenko won’t let his friendship with Daniel Jacobs get in the way of him capturing the vacant IBF middleweight title on October 27 in their fight on HBO Championship Boxing at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs) is finally getting his chance at winning a world title after turning pro four years ago in 2014, and he doesn’t want to blow it by losing to former WBA middleweight champion Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs).
