Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 26 KOs) was able to walk the supposedly big punching Conor McGregor (0-1) down and stop him in the 10th round last Saturday night. UFC star McGregor, 29, came into the fight with Mayweather having a reputation as a knockout artist in the UFC, where he holds 2 titles.

Against Mayweather, the southpaw McGregor didn’t look powerful at all. He was mostly hitting Mayweather with arm punches for 10 rounds. Mayweather said after the fight that if McGregor was a big puncher, he wouldn’t have walked him down the way he did in their mega-fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) has accepted newly crowned WBA World 175 lb. champion Badou Jack’s challenge to fight him in a unification match. Stevenson, 39, wanted to fight a unification match against IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Andre “SOG” Ward, but there doesn’t appear to be any interest in making that fight from his side.

Following his 5th round knockout loss to Badou Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs) last Saturday night, Nathan Cleverly (30-4, 16 KOs) announced his retirement on his social media site. Only 30-yeaars-old, Cleverly said he had “Too many miles” on him from his 12-year pro career. Cleverly lost his WBA World light heavyweight title in the defeat to Jack.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. beats Conor McGregor in round 10 Via Technical Knockout. Mayweather to take his record to 50-0.He passes Rocky Marciano for most wins without a loss/draw in boxing history. Mayweather backed McGregor onto the ropes with a series of rights and lefts. McGregor’s face was completely bloodied. He was about to fall through the ropes, and the referee stepped in to stop the fight with 1:55 remaining in the round.

Floyd Mayweather beat Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Referee Robert Byrd stopped the fight as Mayweather pummeled a clearly fatigued McGregor. In an interview after the bout ended, Showtime’s Jim Gray asked Mayweather if he’d ever fight again, now that he’s 50-0 as a professional.

Following his defeat at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday, Conor McGregor was grateful for the opportunity to share the ring with one of boxing’s biggest stars, but he would have liked a little more time to work.

In a truly ugly mismatch, former 4 division world champion Miguel Cotto (41-5, 33 KOs) beat Yoshihiro Kamegai (27-5-2, 24 KOs) by a terribly one-sided fight on Saturday night to win the World Boxing Organization 154lb tile in a fight televised by HBO at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The scores were 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109. Boxing News 24 scored the fight 120-108.
