Former middleweight champion Danny Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) is picking Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) to defeat the highly popular Mexican PPV attraction Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jacobs says Golovkin’s size, power and his experience in the 160 lb. division will be the telling factors in him beating Canelo.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is sounding out of this world confident going into his fight this Saturday night against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Canelo has increased his trash talking by another level, as he’s now saying he would have knocked out all the same guys that Golovkin did during his career. HBO’s Max Kellerman doubts that Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (46-2, 38 KOs) will ever be the same fighter again after his 4th round knockout loss to WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (44-4-1, 40 KOs) last Saturday night in their rematch at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Kellerman’s thoughts were echoed by HBO commentator Jim Lampley, who also doesn’t Gonzalez being able to come back and be the same fighter he was before.

WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (43-4-1, 39 KOs) was too powerful for former 4 division world champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (46-2, 38 KOs) in stopping him in the 4th round in a crushing 2 knockdown victory at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Gonzalez was knocked down hard in the 4th round from a left to the head. Moments later, Rungvisai finished the badly hurt 30-year-old Gonzalez with a right to the head that put him down flat on his back. The fight was immediately halted at that point by the referee, and the medical team was called in the treat Gonzalez. The official time of the stoppage was at 1:18 of round 4.

WBO World super flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (14-0, 12 KOs) put on a body punching clinic in stopping #7 Antonio Nieves (17-2-2, 9 KOs) in a 6th round on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The fight was halted by Nieves’ corner after round 6. He had taken too much punishment. Inoue, 24, dropped Nieves with a hard body shot in round 5. He continued to nail Nieves with body shots for the remainder of the round.

In an off performance, a very lackadaisical looking 20-year-old David Benavidez (19-0, 17 KOs) became the youngest fighter to ever win a super middleweight title in defeating Ronald Gavril (18-2, 14 KOs) by a 12 round split decision to win the vacant WBC 168 lb. title on Friday night on Showtime Boxing from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
