GILAS PILIPINAS will have its old nemesis South Korea as an opponent in the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup.
Taking place today at 11:30 p.m. at the Nouhad Nawfal Sports Complex in Beirut, Lebanon, the last eight encounter between the familiar foes was forged after South Korea defeated Japan, 81-68, late Monday night in the first phase of the knockout rounds of the continental basketball tournament.

GILAS Pilipinas earned automatic entry into the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup in Beirut, Lebanon, after it defeated Qatar, 80-74, last night and swept its assignments in its grouping in group play of the prestigious continental tournament.
The Philippines got sweet revenge on China, carving out a 96-87 win to open its FIBA Asia Cup campaign on a high note in Lebanon tonight. Gilas was up 14 at the half and withstood a torrid comeback by China to prove tougher down the stretch.
