“Dream come true,” said 25-year-old Philippine Azkals dependable player Misagh Bahadoran of his Mr. Football 2016 award from the Philippine Sportswriters Association in its Annual Awards Night presented by MILO and San Miguel on February 13 at Le Pavillon, Pasay City.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, the All Japan Judo Federation (AJJF) —through the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan— officially turned over 142 pieces of traditional Japanese tatami or ‘woven straw’ mats to the Philippine Judo Federation (PJF) in a ceremony held at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila. PJF President David Carter led the ceremonies attended by JICC Director Ken Nakamura and First Secretary Seiki Furudate on behalf of AJJF.

This year the Miss Universe 2017 pageant will be extremely different. The judging panel is not going to have celebrities like other years, this time titleholders from the past will determine the winner. Latinas that have confirmed their assistance are Lupita Jones (1991), Dayanara Torres (1993), Dayana Mendoza(2008) and Gabriela Isler (2013). Other ladies scheduled to appear are Armi Kuusela (1952), Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Porntip Bui Simon (1988), Sushmita Sen (1994), Jennifer Hawkins (2004), Riyo Mori (2007) and Olivia Culpo (2012).
