Hector Lombard vs. Anthony Smith booked for UFC event in August

Hector Lombard will return to the Octagon in August badly in need of a win.

Hector Lombard will likely be fighting for his UFC life in August. The former Bellator middleweight champion has had his struggles in and out of the Octagon since he came over to the UFC, but has finally been booked for a fight against Anthony Smith on a yet-unannounced August 19th card.

MMA Junkie was first to report the news.

Lombard (34-7-1, 2 NC) has lost three bouts in a row, with the last coming to Johny Hendricks in February. He is just 3-5 with 1 No Contest in his UFC tenure, which included a one-year PED suspension.

Smith (27-12, 3-2 UFC) has won two bouts in a row, taking out Andrew Sanchez by third-round knockout in his last bout in April. He won a performance bonus for his second-round TKO win over Elvis Mutapcic in December of last year.

The August 19th card doesn’t have a confirmed location yet, but UFC president Dana White has noted that it might go down in the Key Arena in Seattle.
