Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) will be defending his IBF/WBA heavyweight straps on October 28 against his IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev (25-1, 13 KOs) at the Millennium Stadium, in Cardiff, Wales.

Pulev is a 2008 Olympian from Bulgaria with good size at 6’4 ½”, 250 lbs. and an excellent jab, but not much else going for him. He’s not a power puncher by any means, and he’s slow on his feet. Pulev can take a decent punch, but he doesn’t great punch resistance, as we saw in his 5th knockout loss to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014. It seemed like every time Wladimir would touch Pulev with a shot, he’d go down. It was comical to watch.

Stevenson says it doesn’t matter which of the two he fights. He wants to add their titles to his collection.

Jack, 33, is the guy that Stevenson is mentioning only because he recently called him out after his 5th round knockout win over WBA ‘regular’ light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly on August 26 in their fight in the co-feature bout on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Antonio Margarito (41-8, 27 Kos) kept his remote hopes for a third fight against Miguel Cotto alive with a 7th round technical decision win over journeyman Carson Jones (40-12-3, 30 KOs) on Saturday night in a scheduled 10 round fight at the Gimnasio Manuel Bernardo Aguirre, in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Margarito, 39, suffered a cut to his right eyelid in the 2nd round from a clash of heads and this eventually led the fight being stopped in round 7. The cut appeared to come from a punch, not a clash of heads, but referees sometimes make mistakes.

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn feels sorry for Saul Canelo Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, because their important fight on September 16 was totally undercut by the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor event that took place last Saturday night on August 26 on Showtime pay-per-view.

Hearn says that even this past week can’t count for the Canelo-GGG fight being properly hyped with the boxing fans due to all the fans still talking about the Mayweather-McGregor fight, breaking down the results and thinking about the match.
