    South Africa is experiencing a surge of new COVID-19 cases driven by two omicron sub-variants, according to health experts.

    The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday warned violators of the ban on hiring and movement of personnel during election period.

    This is a significant increase in foreign arrivals, with a big spike noted this month, the DOT said in a news release.
