The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the fastest-growing and most innovative sports league, today announced a broadcast partnership with SportyTV to broadcast live fight coverage in Nigeria and Ghana. The agreement will give fans in those countries free access to watch the world’s top MMA fighters competing in the PFL World Championship in Washington, D.C. on November 24, the PFL Europe Playoff in Paris on September 30 and the PFL Europe Championship in Dublin on December 8.

The partnership with Africa’s leading sports free-to-air channel is the latest effort by PFL to expand into the continent and meet the major demand for premium and consistent MMA content there. Earlier this year, PFL announced the creation of PFL Africa which will be led by chairman and minority equity owner Francis Ngannou, the greatest fighter in the world.

The new regional league will be the premier MMA platform on the continent and feature the greatest fighters competing to become PFL Africa champions and earn a pathway to the PFL Global season.

“There’s a massive growth opportunity for MMA in Africa and our partnership with SportyTV will allow us to showcase the world’s greatest fighters competing against one another in the biggest fights of the year,” said PFL SVP, International James Frewin. “PFL is committing long-term to developing the sport of MMA across the continent and we are excited about the launch of PFL Africa in 2025 with Francis Ngannou as our chairman paving the way for future champions’.”

“We are committed to bringing free access to the best in sports entertainment to our viewers, and this partnership with PFL, the fastest-growing sports league in the world, is a testament to that commitment,” added Elias Gallego, VP of Media, Business Development and Marketing at Sporty Group.

The PFL World Championship is the richest night in MMA as finalists will face off for six world titles and six $1 million champion’s purses. The event will be supercharged by the return of two-time PFL World Champion Kayla Harrison to the SmartCage, with Biaggio Ali Walsh, Bubba Jenkins and Chris Wade also competing on the star-studded card.

PFL is the #1 fastest growing company in MMA and the #2 MMA company on a worldwide basis. PFL is the only league in MMA with the sports-season format, where individual fighters compete in a regular season, playoffs, and championship each year, making PFL a “win and advance” meritocracy like all other major sports. PFL fighter roster hails from over 20 countries and 25% of PFL fighters are independently ranked in the top 25 of their weight-class. The company leads in technology and innovation, with its proprietary PFL SmartCage powering real-time betting and next-gen viewing experience.
