On December 27, in a game against the Lakers in LA, Chandler Parsons played 18 minutes, posting 5 points on a measly 2-of-5 shooting.
It was the last time Parsons took the floor for the Grizzlies.
There’s been radio silence on Parsons since, the only updates coming with each passing game as the Grizzlies PR account lists Parsons as “Out” with knee soreness. Last Saturday, the Grizzlies even spiced it up, adding “illness” to the list.

We’re all waiting on the actual draft order to leak from the NBA All-Star teams. While Stephen Curry and LeBron James stayed silent on who they selected, both said it should have been televised. (The NBA planned to do so, too, only for certain members of the players association to push back against the plan.) It almost seems inevitable that someone, at some point, will figure out who exactly went in what order.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a need in their backcourt, and according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, they have interest in Sacramento Kings veteran guard George Hill. Talks started last week and have continue over the weekend. The deal now includes the possibility of Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye as pieces in the trade.

Under no normal circumstances should any team want to trade their lone All-Star. However, if the Charlotte Hornets hope to be anything other than a borderline playoff team in the next five to seven years, then they must seriously consider trading Kemba Walker.

Whew, what a week it has been in the NBA. Honestly, the new All-Star format seems really great and I think it will do wonders for the actual game next month. Only thing that would have made it better is if, you know, they televised the draft. All signs point to it being televised next year though, so we do have that to look forward to.

The Cavaliers’ total scoring margin is only +10 on the season despite being nine games over .500. Cleveland has the No. 29 defense in the land, and is at real danger of falling to No. 30 ... behind the Sacramento Kings. The Cavs are a full six games behind the Celtics — with whom they executed a mammoth summer trade — for the No. 1 seed, four behind the Raptors for No. 2, and just 1.5 games ahead of the Heat and Wizards for the No. 3.
