NBA players don’t normally try hard in the All-Star game. But Sunday night’s game was different and that was really because of LeBron James. He cared a ton.
It started with his defense with just over a minute to go. James guarded Joel Embiid with him playing the center for his team. The team legitimately double teamed Embiid and forced a review!
The 2018 NBA All-Star Game was under a much different structure than its previous editions, and it was awesome. Teams captained by LeBron James and Stephen Curry will took court with rosters the two drafted three weeks ago. In previous years, teams were divided by the Eastern and Western Conference, but the league opted to spice things up this season.
LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford were the final selections by LeBron James and Stephen Curry in the 2018 NBA All-Star draft.
"I'm not a flashy player," Aldridge said. "That's OK.
Another All-Star Saturday night is in the books.
Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who has burst onto the scene this season, took home the Skills title, bringing the trophy back to the guards with a victory over Lauri Markkanen.
Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Ray Allen headline the finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Kidd and Nash are expected to be voted into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. Kidd ranks second in NBA history with 12,091 assists, and Nash is third with 10,335 assists. Nash also won back-to-back MVPs.
Paul George received "We want Paul! We want Paul!" chants from the crowd in Los Angeles when he took the podium for All-Star media day.
George has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers as he enters free agency this offseason.
