ANTIPOLO — Ateneo de Manila University relied on a third quarter blitz to overcome University of the East 91-76 in the UAAP Season 85 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Sunday, at the Ynares Sports Center here.

Dave Ildefonso led all scorers with 20 points followed by Kai Ballungay’s 14 points. Forthsky Padrigao and BJ Andrade scored 11 points each while Angelo Kouame had 20 rebounds.

Up 36-35 courtesy of a Bryan Sajonia three with 7:20 remaining in the game, the Tamaraws found some separation with another Sajonia basket off an LJ Gonzales steal to lead 45-40 with 2:31 left in the game.

ANTIPOLO — Tacky Tacatac led the way while Nikki Villasin finally fulfilled her breakout game as University of Santo Tomas extended its winning streak to four straight games after an 82-61 wire-to-wire over University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 85 Women’s Basketball Tournament, Saturday, at the Ynares Sports Center here.

Far Eastern University earned its breakthrough win on its sixth outing, trouncing University of Santo Tomas, 75-60, in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball tournament, Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Bryan Sajonia delivered 23 points on a perfect 9-of-9 clip from the two-point area to lead the Tamaraws to their first win.

National University eked out an 80-76 squeaker over De La Salle University for its fourth straight win in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball tournament, Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

This is the Bulldogs' first win over the Green Archers since October 28, 2015 during their second round encounter in Season 78. La Salle won the next 10 matchups.
