MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Multicultural Helping House Society (MHHS) in Manila fully prepares Filipino immigrants even before they set foot in Canadian soil, through the Pathways to Canada pre-arrival program, approved by the Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The program is funded by the Canada immigration to help prepare newcomers for moving to Canada. It provides free services such as settlement and employment/career information, orientation, and referral; needs assessment; and personalized settlement plan with other links to in-Canada resources.

A large fire destroyed a house under construction and forced a family out of their home early Sunday in Langley.

Fire crews were called to the 23800-block of 36A Avenue, after a neighbour reported seeing the construction site on fire.

Two structures on the property were involved in the blaze, one of which was under construction at the time.

BC Children's and Women's Hospitals in Vancouver are rolling out a whole new way to care for newborns with serious medical problems.

Once fully operational on Friday, the Teck Acute Care Centre will house North America's first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where mother and child will receive medical care in the same room, from the same nurse.
