Filipinos in Vancouver are excited for the performance of Arnel Pineda as part of his North America tour.

Pineda is touring as a solo artist to promote his AP album which features all-original songs written and produced by Arnel himself. Some of the tracks were written as far back as 2000.

Rescuers are searching the snowy North Shore mountains for a young man who went missing from his Vancouver home on Halloween.

Carl Couture, 24, was last seen at his West End apartment near Haro and Thurlow streets on Tuesday morning, but he did not show up for work and has not been in contact with family or friends, according to Vancouver police.

Rayne Thompson took an overdose response training course over the weekend, but had no idea she'd have to use her knowledge so soon afterward.

The 16-year-old learned how to administer naloxone, a medication which reverses the effect of an opioid overdose, on Saturday.

Hours later, Thompson was walking around downtown Victoria with a friend when they came across man who was unconscious in the street.

Police have issued a public warning after a woman was sexually assaulted after getting off a bus in South Vancouver on Sunday.

The 20-year-old woman disembarked at Victoria Drive and East 64th Avenue just after 10 p.m. As she started walking west down East 64th, police said a man grabbed her from behind, told her he had a weapon and starting making sexual comments.

Bridge tolls were already bringing in revenue and helping to reduce traffic congestion in the region before the NDP government — and others before it  — removed them from the Port Mann, Golden Ears and Lions Gate bridges, says a University of British Columbia professor.

"If we had not removed all the tolls in the region, the amount of revenue that ... would have been enormous by this time," said Patrick Condon, a professor in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at UBC.
