Knicks point guard Derrick Rose went missing from the team Monday without permission but later reached team officials, telling them he had a family situation and had returned to his hometown of Chicago, sources told ESPN.

He was back at the team facility Tuesday.

Rose missed Monday night's loss to the Pelicans, and the Knicks had grown concerned enough earlier to check on him at his apartment, sources said.

Forget about Tyron Woodley fighting Michael Bisping, or Nick Diaz, or Demian Maia, because the UFC’s current welterweight champion isn’t facing any of those three next. On The Morning Wood Show (hosted by Woodley and Din Thomas), Woodley confirmed that he’ll be rematching Stephen Thompson at UFC 209 in March.

The Cavaliers nearly blew a 20-point lead, but still came out on top against the Suns on the road.

Despite losing a 20-point lead to start the second half, the Cavaliers held on in a closely fought game in Phoenix to open up their west coast road trip with a 120-116 win. The Cavs appeared to be cruising to a comfortable win on the road in Phoenix with a 69-53 lead at the half, but the were caught flat-footed in the third quarter by a Suns’ 25-7 run.

Nick Diaz hasn’t made a return the Octagon yet, but he’s been hanging out with Snoop Dogg.

There’s no one in MMA quite like Nick Diaz. Even though he hasn’t won a fight since 2011 and was suspended for long portions of the last five years, he is still one of the most popular fighters out there. He is now eligible to return to the Octagon, but has apparently turned down bouts with Robbie Lawler and UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley already.

Despite a fantastic first three quarters, Golden State collapsed late in the game, allowing Memphis to come back and win big.

A tale of two games

This one is still hard to process. The Golden State Warriors lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 119-128. But they played beautifully and sharply in the first three quarters, leading by as much as 24 points. It felt all but over as the Warriors started the fourth quarter up 98-79, then it all fell apart.

The Heat caught those Lakers hands.

The Los Angeles Lakers were too hot for the Miami Heat, scorching them in a 126-100 victory. Brandon Ingram had a great game, tying a career-high in scoring with 17 points along with four pretty dimes and six rebounds. The big story might have been Luol Deng’s revenge game with 19 points, but Jordan Clarkson and Goran Dragic getting ejected for fighting is definitely your lede for the night.
