Anthony Joshua will be back inside the ring in October or November to defend his IBF/WBA heavyweight titles, says his promote Eddie Hearn. He expects Joshua to take a vacation soon, though he hasn’t said anything about wanting to take a break. Hearn is plotting the possible opponents, which range from a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko to a fight against Kubrat Pulev. Tyson Fury is also a possibility for the 2-year-old Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) but that fight isn’t likely to take lace due to the huge amount of weight that Fury still needs to lose before he can consider getting back inside the ring.

The Spurs did what they needed to do, and Kawhi Leonard’s MVP-caliber performance of offensive dominance and shutting down the best player on the Rockets was what they needed to even the series. The whole team played with intensity and purpose, following the lead of their star player.

The Cavaliers certainly looked well-rested in their win against the Raptors.

The Cavaliers hadn’t played since April 23rd, when they finished off their sweep of the Indiana Pacers. Well, they looked very well rested as they ran the Toronto Raptors off the floor with a 116-105 Game 1 victory that wasn’t even remotely as close as the Final score appeared.

No tooth, no problem for Isaiah Thomas. He eviscerated the Washington Wizards as the Boston Celtics took a 1-0 lead in their second round series.

BOSTON – Marcus Smart said it’s all about who punches first. After the Washington Wizards earned the first knockout of the fight, tossing the Celtics into a 16-0 hole early in the first quarter, it looked like a TKO for John Wall and company when they knocked out Isaiah Thomas’s tooth halfway through the first quarter.

In a winner-take-all game, the Clippers came out flat, and were dominated by the Jazz from start to finish.

There really isn’t much to say about this game that hasn’t already been said in previous game recaps. The Clippers’ defense was effective only in very small doses, their offense struggled to generate anything, especially in the halfcourt, and their energy wasn’t great.

Isaiah Thomas and John Wall staged a head-to-head duel in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup. While Wall seemed to fade towards the end of the game, Thomas had enough left in the tank to lead the Celtics to a commanding 2-0 series lead in an overtime victory.
