Phoenix is set to rebuild with its No. 4 pick.

The Phoenix Suns have reassured their first-round pick, Josh Jackson, that he will not be included in any deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving, per ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Arizona Sports 98.7’s John Gambadoro. Jackson, a 6’8 wing from the University of Kansas, was taken No. 4 overall in last month’s NBA draft.

Gasol was supposed to take a paycut so San Antonio could sign free agents. But the Spurs missed on the big fish.

Veteran free agent big man Pau Gasol has re-signed with the San Antonio Spurs on a three-year deal worth $48 million, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. There is only a partial guarantee on the final year of his new deal.

Kyrie Irving reportedly requested that the Cavaliers trade him this summer after six seasons in Cleveland. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that Irving made the request last week. NBA.com’s David Aldridge reports that Irving requested a trade to the Bulls so he could play with Jimmy Butler before the NBA Draft in June. (Butler has since been traded to Minnesota.)

Wall’s contract with the Wizards now runs through 2023.

John Wall and the Washington Wizards have agreed to a four-year, $170 million contract extension that will keep Wall on the Wizards until 2023, according to NBA.com’s David Aldridge. Wall’s contract also includes a 15-percent trade kicker and a player option on the final year.
