Golden State now takes their 2-0 series lead and heads to New Orleans at full strength

No one said this was going to be easy, or pretty, but at least with Steph Curry back, it’s fun!

The Golden State Warriors traded shots back and forth with the New Orleans Pelicans for most of the game before pulling away in the final frame. Each team took turns going on little runs and then watching the other team climb back into the game, but in the end the Warriors consistency won out.

Behind LeBron’s triple-double, the Cavs manage to take the 1-0 series lead.

The Cavaliers couldn’t have won that game, right?

Cleveland played Game 1 in Toronto after playing a little over 48 hours ago. LeBron Jamesshot 12-of-30 from the field. Kevin Love shot 3-of-13 from the field, yet somehow the Cavaliers managed to steal one game north of the border.

The idea that the New Orleans Pelicans could compete with the Golden State Warriors in this Western Conference semifinals series was born mostly out of optimistic, it seems clear in hindsight. Nobody picked New Orleans to win, but it was sexy to predict them stealing a couple.

That looks less likely after Game 1’s 123-101 drubbing on Saturday, one that the Warriors accomplished with Stephen Curry — who’s expected back in Game 2 — sitting on the sidelines. At one point, they led by 41 points.

With 1:44 left in the fourth quarter and the Celtics up 18, Al Horford, Terry Rozier and Jayson Tatum checked out of the game. It wasn’t the Big 3 Brad Stevens envisioned when the season began, but it’s the crew that got the job done anyway.

The Celtics have battled injury all season long. First Gordon Hayward. Then Kyrie Irving, Daniel Theis and Marcus Smart. They found a way to win ball games all season long. Game 1 against the 76ers was no different.

The Beard got busy, and the Rockets used a big first half to take an early lead in their series with Utah.

The Houston Rockets played an uneven game against the Utah Jazz today, but they used a tremendous first-half of peak Rockets basketball to build a 25-point halftime lead, and James Harden scored 41 points to lead Houston to a 110-96 win in game one of their second-round series with Utah.
