THE Philippines Football League (PFL) transfer that saw Phil and James Younghusband move from FC Meralco Manila to Davao Aguilas FC was made official on Wednesday night in a signing ceremony held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

Stalwarts in the Philippine men’s national football team, the Younghusband brothers are the latest addition to Davao’s fortified roster, joining recent signings Simone Rota, Jason de Jong, Matthew Hartmann and Nick O’Donnell.

THE impressive run of Kaya FC-Makati of late in the Philippines Football League (PFL) was maintained by the club on Sunday as it rolled to its fifth straight victory which in turn gifted it the tournament leadership.

Defeated Ilocos United FC, 2-1, at the University of Makati Stadium, Kaya improved its record to eight wins, two draws and three losses for 26 points, two points clear of erstwhile league-leader FC Meralco Manila (7-3-1).

FC MERALCO Manila was held to a 2-2 draw by Global Cebu FC in its Saturday Philippines Football League fixture but it was enough to thrust it back in the driver’s seat in the standings of the newly created national football league.

Siblings James and Phil Younghusband provided the goals for host team Meralco but a brace from newly signed player Darryl Roberts for visiting Global negated them, forcing the match, played at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, to end in a draw, and the teams getting a point each.

KAYA FC-Makati sustained its fine form of late in the Philippines Football League on Wednesday, rolling to its fourth straight win with a 5-2 victory over Ilocos United FC at its University of Makati Stadium.

Drawing a hat trick from forward Jordan Mintah, Kaya (7-2-3) sustained its resurgence after hitting a rough patch previously in the newly created national football league, and is now back on top of the standings with 23 points in 12 games, tied with FC Meralco Manila (7-2-1).
