Williamson puts his super welterweight crown on the line against former amateur star Kelly in December, on a massive night of boxing in Newcastle.

The British champion overcame David Benitez in Bolton this evening to rubber-stamp the title showdown, with the date and venue to be confirmed in due course.

Regis Prograis says he has ‘clawed his way out of a pit’ to secure another shot at the world super lightweight title.

The WBC have ordered for Prograis to face Jose Zepeda in a clash for the vacant crown at 140lbs after Jose Ramirez pulled out of the fight.

Prograis was the WBA champion in 2019 but says losing his crown to Josh Taylor, and the subsequent near three-year wait to secure another world title tilt, has made him realise he did not “cherish” what he had.

Showtime president Stephen Espinoza says he’s not in favor of doing a joint pay-per-view involving DAZN with his company for the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight.

Espinoza feels that it will complicate things if he needs to be dual network deal between Tank and Ryan. Unfortunately, Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, says he wants his broadcast partner, DAZN, to be involved because they helped build Ryan.

Tony Bellew believes Canelo Alvarez would have beaten WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol if he was on his A-game last May.

It appeared that Canelo was fighting at the same level as he’d been during his fights in 2021.

As far as Sean Jones is concerned, the former four-division world champion Canelo looked the same against Bivol as he had last year when he beat 168-lb champions Billy Joe Saunders, Caleb Plant, and Callum Smith to become the undisputed super middleweight champ.

Tyson Fury will be fighting an exhibition match against strong man, weight lifter, and boxer Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson in November in a stadium fight in London.

WBC heavyweight champion Fury (32-0-, 23 KOs) told the Telegraph that he hopes 70,000 fans will turn up to watch him fight the 33-year-old Thor Bjornsson. That’s an ambitious number for a fight that is a mismatch, and it’s unclear if it’ll do even 15,000.

Anthony Joshua says he’ll “dash” [throw away] the three titles he wins off of IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on August 20th.
Joshua states that he wants people to “respect” him “as a person,” and the best way to achieve that is not to hold onto the three titles that he hopes to win from unified champion Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) in their rematch next month in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
