ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — LeBron James has made a career out of carrying his team through tough stretches, and in his 17th season, he hasn’t lost a step.

James had 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his sixth triple-double this season, helping the Los Angeles Lakers to a 96-87 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

Golden State’s enforcer pulled no punches in his assessment of a deflating home loss.

The theme from last night’s postgame press conference was that the Golden State Warriors were especially disappointed they couldn’t knock off the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center. Perhaps that’s because they had already put a beating on the Grizz earlier this season in Tennessee, or because the Warriors finally had enough healthy bodies to resemble a legit NBA team.

Disgraced Tim Donaghy has made media rounds since he was caught in a gambling scandal back in 2007, and he has spilled the dirt on the NBA’s officiating ever since. While some believe that many of Donaghy’s stories are sensationalized and made up to take the attention off of him, they are, nonetheless, fascinating looks at how an NBA referee, albeit a disgraced one, may think about the game.

The Lakers are raving about how close this team is, and while winning surely helps that, the chemistry they mention has also led to sacrifices that have made so much winning more possible.

Perhaps we should have known that a run like this was coming from the Los Angeles Lakers. They may have only just yesterday finished up what was supposed to be a tough road trip undefeated, but they’ve been speaking the language of true title contenders all season, even if they weren’t actually playing against many other teams with realistic postseason aspirations until just now.

14 games. That’s how many games the Milwaukee Bucks have now won in a row, as the Los Angeles Clippers couldn’t find a way to stop the Deer.

It’d be an ugly start for both teams in this one (Milwaukee would go 0-for-6 from deep to begin), but eventually, a pair of Pat Connaughton threes would rev up the Bucks and the crowd. The Bench Mob would do their job and help grant Milwaukee a 15 point lead after the end of one, 30-15.

Coming into his third season as a Laker and fresh off being the one young player kept around in the trade that saw Anthony Davis come to Los Angeles, Kyle Kuzma had visions of being a star. He told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk that after putting in a summer of work, he expected to continue to develop into a player that was capable of “being that superstar” that could play next to LeBron James and Davis.

Former Spectrum SportsNet reporter Kelli Tennant filed to have her lawsuit against Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton dismissed this week, according to a document filed in the L.A. County Superior Court.

The request came nearly four months after the NBA’s investigation into Tennant’s allegations of sexual assault against Walton found insufficient evidence to support Tennant’s claims. Tennant did not cooperate with the league’s investigation.

LeBron James, Frank Vogel, Dwight Howard and Alex Caruso are all in agreement that Anthony Davis should be the Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner. His play as the Lakers beat the Nuggets showed why.

As Anthony Davis walked off the floor after making multiple huge defensive plays to help the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Nuggets in Denver on Tuesday night, he was screaming out a message to teammate Alex Caruso.

In an absolute dismantling, the Bucks tore apart the Knicks tonight at Fiserv Forum, 132-88, earning another wire-to-wire victory.

Just as we all expected, Milwaukee didn’t waste any time getting this one started. Khris Middleton would receive his first start since returning from injury, and he’d make his presence felt early on with 10 points. Giannis would chip in with eight of his own, and seven other Bucks would find the score sheet. After one, the Bucks leapt out to a 33-15 advantage.

Credit to the Jazz in the third quarter of Sunday night’s contest against the Raptors. In just those 12 minutes, Utah scored 49 points, while shooting 72 percent from the field and 80 percent from three. They also had 15 assists against zero turnovers, and grabbed 10 boards, including three on the offensive end. It was total domination, the kind of impressive basketball one would expect from a team many picked as favourites in the Western Conference.
