Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison has been suspended 8 games by the NBA as a result of his domestic violence case. Collison pled guilty to domestic battery charges stemming from an incident in June.
8 games is less than what many fans and commentators expected. It is impossible to speculate how the NBA came to their decision, but there are sure to be many who feel this punishment is too lenient.
During the suspension the Kings are expected to start Ty Lawson, based on early indications from training camp.
