NATIONAL Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman and President Prospero “Butch” Pichay, Jr. has expressed his full support to the Bulacan Chess Tournament (1950 and Below Division) slated this Nov. 3 (Sunday) starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Aliw Complex Event Center in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
The event was organized by Meycauyan Chess Club in cooperation with Bulacan Chess Association, Noypi Chess Association, Inc., and the Queen’s Travel and Tours, along with Novelty Chess Club President Sonsea Agonoy, who has also happily joined the support group.
Tournament director and national arbiter Richard dela Cruz said the division will be basing the NCFP rating with time control of 20 minutes only, including the five seconds time delay per move.
The grand winner will be taking home P4,000 cash prize; second placer with P2,000; third placer with P1,200; fourth placer with P800; fifth placer with P600; and the sixth to eighth placers with P500 each.
A special prize of P500 will be given to each winner of Top Lady, Top Elementary ,Top High School, Top PWD,Top Unrated and Top Senior (55+) categories.
Registration fee is P300, while a discounted fee of P250 will be allowed for female, elementary students, senior citizen and PWDs.
On-site registration is at 9:30 am. Players are required to present their IDs upon registration for verification by the Tournament Registration Committee.
The event will be officiated by international arbiter Ilann Perez and national arbiters Dela Cruz and Alfredo Chay.
