Filipino chess wizard Wayne Diaz Ruiz is setting his sights on the title when he competes in the first ever Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran FIDE-Rating Rapid Chess Kiddies 14-years-old and below tournament Inter School Individual Chess Championship will be on December 14 (Saturday) at the second floor Open Kitchen Airconditioned food hall, Rockwell Business Center-Sheridan, Highwayhills, Greenfields District in Mandaluyong City.


The 12 years old Ruiz, a grade 7 pupil of Marie Margarette School in Santa Rosa, Laguna is looking to follow his impressive performance in the 2nd Pattaya Chess Open 2019 Under-12 division age group chess championship held at the Bay Beach Resort in Pattaya, Thailand from October 19 to 23.


Ruiz, a member of the star-studded Redkings Chess Manila of it's founder Fide Master Nelson "Elo" Mariano II and Golden Mind chess club headed by its president Alexandro “Allan” Osena, is in high spirits ahead of the upcoming competition.


Backed up by DepEd MAPEH supervisor and coach Mario Zantua and Barangay Market Area chairman James B. Mariñas won the over-all title in the 2nd Pattaya Chess Open 2019 Under-12 division with undefeated score of 8.0 points on account of seven wins and two draws in nine outings.


“I feel we have a real good chance of doing very well in this first ever Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran FIDE-Rating Rapid Chess Kiddies 14-years-old and below tournament Inter School Individual Chess Championship," said Ruiz.


Country's youngest Woman Fide Master Antonelle Berthe Racasa topped the girls' Under-12 division with 6.5 points in nine outings.


The 12-year-old Racasa is a grade 6 pupil of VCIS - Home School Global.


Her Thailand International Chess Championship campaign was supported by D. Edgard A.
