low Rapid Chess Championship after beating Ritchie James Abellada during the final round in Open Kitchen, Rockwell Business Center-Sheridan, Highwayhills, Mandaluyong City on Sunday.

Biete finished with 6 wins and 1 loss in seven outings, the same output of Jeremy Marticio in the one-day tournament, organized by Fide Master Christopher Castellano, Robert Racasa and Genghis Imperial hosted by Ms. China Aurelio, Mr. John Gomez and Ms. Emerita "Mimi" Casas of Open Kitchen in close cooperation with Mr. Jeffrey Dimalanta, Mr. Arturo Turbanada and Mr. Bong Buto.

Biete playing under the banner of De La Salle Santiago Zobel School coach Woman International Master Mikee Suede, however, was proclaimed champion due to better tie break points.

At 3rd to 6th place with 5.5 points were Ritchie James Abeleda, Franchesca Largo, Karlycris Clarito Jr. and Ma. Elayza Villa.

Mark John Baliwang led the huge group of five pointers that includes are Janmyl Dilan Tisado, Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, Mar Aviel Carredo, Ivan Gelua, Gladimir Chester Romero, Cyrus James Damiray, Mark Joseph Barbosa and Jersey Marticio.


Woman Fide Master Antonella Berthe Racasa, Rey Julius Taguba, John Matthew Alvarado, Jean Antonette Brade and Ghynard Rafael Catel tallied 4.5 points each.

Adjudged category winners are Glaiza Celine Romero (U-6), Jean Antonette Brade (U-8), Bonjoure Fille Suyamin (U-10) and Mark John Baliwang (U12).
