As every reader would know by now, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor Mcgregor will face each other in Las Vegas on August 26. Virtually every article or post that I have read about the fight is about Floyd completely dominating Connor and how much of a mismatch this fight is. However, there is still a question that no one seems to be asking, maybe because we simply won’t know the answer until fight night.

Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and current IBF/WBA champ Anthony Joshua traded trash talk earlier today in going back and forth about how they fought Wladimir Klitschko in beating the Ukrainian fighter. Joshua said Fury’s 12 round unanimous decision win over Wladimir in 2015 was a boring one that lacked action.

WBA Super World super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (18-0, 12 KOs) will have his 1st round knockout win over his mandatory challenger Moises “Chucky” Flores (25-1, 17 Kos) overturned and changed to a no decision by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to Dan Rafael.

The reason the Commission will be changing the outcome of the contest is because Rigondeaux’s knockout came after the bell had sounded to end the 1st round. Upon review of the fight, the Commission observed that Rigondeau’s left-hand knockout blow came after the 1st round had ended.

If Andre Ward’s trainer Virgil Hunter gets his way, Ward will be fighting for a heavyweight world title in his next fight against IBF/WBA champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs). Hunter says he sees it as a waste of time for Ward to move up to the cruiserweight division.

He thinks it’s a better idea if the 33-year-old Ward moves up 2 divisions to fight Joshua at heavyweight. Indeed, moving up one division to cruiserweight could spoil it for Ward if he’s looking to get a big payday fight against the unbeaten Anthony Joshua. Ward would have his hands full at cruiserweight against the top echelon fighters Mairis Briedis, Murat Gassiev, Denis Lebedev and Oleksandr Usyk.

Mikey Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs) is ready to do whatever it takes for him to beat Adrien “The Problem” Broner (33-2, 24 KOs) next month on July 29 in their fight on Showtime Championship Boxing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Broner and Mikey met-up on Monday for their New York press conference.

Mikey was staring holes through Broner’s face when the two of them stood for the face-off during the press conference. Broner, 27, kept his sunglasses on and looked like he wanted no part of the stare down. Broner is usually aggressive with his opponents during his press conferences. It was interesting to see Broner looking unsure of him, nervous, and not the usual cocky that portrays at his press conferences.
