Why Stephen Curry is ripping his fellow NBA players

It takes a lot for Stephen Curry to criticize anyone, let alone a fellow NBA player. But that’s what the Warriors star did Tuesday on social media after seeing teammate Draymond Green was voted the league’s most overrated player.

Green was actually tied with Thunder star Russell Westbrook as the NBA’s most overrated player in The Athletic’s anonymous poll of players.

“Who are these 109 players??????” Curry asked on an Instagram post. “Can’t be anybody that’s actually touched the floor and been in front of those 2! Good luck!”

While 127 players participated in the survey, just 47 players answered the question of which player was the most overrated. Both Green and Westbrook received eight votes. (Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins also each received a vote for being overrated).

In many ways, it’s not terribly surprising the NBA’s two most polarizing players were disparaged in the poll. But, as Curry pointed out, you’re probably kidding yourself if you don’t see the value in what both Green and Westbrook bring to a team.

Curry, not surprisingly, had no reaction to Green being the top vote-getter in another of The Athletic’s poll questions: Which player talks the most trash? Green received 34% of the 123 votes cast, followed by the Clippers’ Patrick Beverley (15.4%) and Westbrook (12.2%).
