after his best performance of the preseason too

The Bulls point guard of the future may have to wait two weeks into the future before he can play in a basketball game again.

Kris Dunn hurt his finger after trying to contest a dunk from Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Sterling Brown.

The injury spoiled Kris Dunn’s best game of the preseason thus far. He poured in 11 points in 16 minutes, shooting 5-for-7 from the field including knocking down the only 3-point shot he attempted. He also had three rebounds and two assists. Particularly encouraging was how aggressive he was driving to the basket.

The Bulls are suddenly very thin at the point guard spot. Grant continues to have the inside track on the starting spot, and Dunn’s setback should make Grant the opening night starter virtually by default.

For the rest of the preseason, Dunn’s injury could mean minutes for Ryan Arcidiacono and Bronson Koenig. Denzel Valentine may get his chance to play point guard as well. He thrived in college when he had the ball in his hands playmaking for his teammates.
