Wade will team up with his good friend LeBron James.

Dwyane Wade has reached an agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers and will sign a one-year, $2.3 million contract with the team Wednesday, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania. Wade had agreed to a buyout with the Chicago Bulls Sunday and was officially put on waivers by the team Monday.

Wade is a free agent now. Where will he go?

Dwyane Wade is a free agent again. He’s agreed to a buyout of the remaining year on his contract with the Chicago Bulls, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

That frees Wade to join a contender, which was long expected once the Bulls traded Jimmy Butler and committed to a rebuilding effort. A reunion with LeBron James and the Cavaliers is possible, but the Spurs are in the mix, as is a reunion with the Miami Heat, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

LOS ANGELES—LeBron James is hopeful Dwyane Wade will join the Cleveland Cavaliers after he secured his buyout from the Chicago Bulls.

The 35-year-old guard bought out his contract with the Bulls on Sunday, and is now poised to listen to offers from a string of potential suitors.

Wade passed up around $8 million in salary to obtain the buyout, according to ESPN.

Melo joins the Thunder after helping drag New York out of the doldrums of NBA standings.

The New York Knicks have traded perennial All-Star Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal marks the end of a seven-year period of Anthony as the face of Knicks basketball.

As part of the deal, New York receives Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick via the Bulls.

Coming off of an appearance in the 2012 NBA Finals, the Thunder traded James Harden, drowning a potential superteam in its baptismal water. The Thunder, locked in a tiny NBA market by choice, couldn’t afford to pay the luxury tax for a decade, even if it meant competing for and even winning championships. GM Sam Presti was unable to convince Harden, a budding star, to take less than his value and make the numbers work. He flipped Harden for a cheaper option and picks.
