A team built specifically to take down one of the league’s most unstoppable dynasties failed again in even more inexplicably disastrous fashion than last year’s 27 consecutive missed three-pointers. This game was supposed to be a gimme.

But after going up by 7 early in the fourth quarter, the Rockets collapsed into a succession of missed easy layups and turnovers, while Curry and Klay Thompson showed their championship pedigree by finishing strong, and the Rockets were eliminated in the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors for the fourth time in the last five years in a 118-113 defeat at home in Game 6.

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Toronto Raptors 112-101, knotting the Eastern Conference Semifinals series at 3-3 and forcing a Game 7. It started off as a game of runs, with each team trading x-number-and-0 streaks. But the Sixers outscored the Raptors in each of the first 3 quarters (with an especially strong 1st quarter, 29-21), going into the final frame with a comfortable 20-point lead.

Kevin Durant left the Golden State Warriors game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night after suffering what appeared to be a non-contact injury.

Durant pulled up for a baseline jumper, and landed without contact. As he started to run back down the court, he stopped and turned back, as though he had suddenly been kicked by someone, though he hadn’t. He then started limping, and immediately left the court.
