American snowboarder Chloe Kim has claimed the Winter Olympic gold medal in the women’s halfpipe snowboarding at just 17 years old.

Kim – a California native with family ties to South Korea, where this year’s games are being held – was a favourite going into the Pyeongchang Games, and she did not disappoint.

Canada has 10 medals, three of them in Snowboarding events, while the Netherlands have 10 medals, many of them in speed skating, and Lim Hyojun brought home the first medal, a gold, for hosts South Korea in the Short Track Speed Skating on Saturday.

Canada took gold in the team figure skating event at the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games after brilliant performances by Patrick Chan, Gabrielle Daleman, Pair skaters Meagan Duhmale and Eric Radford and Ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.
