Bamboo Organ Festival is a unique festival that stands out from many that are held in Philippines, largely because it features a 19th-century church organ with unique organ pipes made from bamboo.

It was completed in 1824 by Father Diego Cera, the builder of the town's stone church and its first resident Catholic parish priest.

The festival brings together music lovers from all over the world to enjoy a scintillating music performance show steered by organists who skillfully play the only bamboo organ worldwide. If this does not sound like an exciting plan, then nothing probably will excite the music lover traversing Asia’s beautiful landscapes.

The festival is held at St. Joseph Parish Church tucked away in Las Piñas City, a short distance from the country’s capital, Manila. The Bamboo Organ Festival is scheduled for the second week of February annual, so if you missed out on this year’s edition, you can always make plans to attend the next.

While at it, you may want to visit the church where the festival is held. The church’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when one Father Diego Cera settled to construct the stone sanctuary.

The spectacular architecture of the church, coupled with the unique bamboo organ, is a centre of attraction for many visitors.

The organ’s age saw it deteriorate in performance, so much so that the local government saw it befitting to take the organ to Germany for restorative purposes. Following the restoration of the organ to its divine glory, the locals sought a way to celebrate the unique sound made by the bamboo organ.
