Saul Canelo Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso says they might be open to a fight against IBF/WBC light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev at 175 if they’re successful against WBO champion Sergey Kovalev on Saturday night. The fighter that boxing fans want to see Canelo facing at light heavyweight is Beterbiev, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll take that fight.

Shakur Stevenson is a world champion. The former Olympic medalist displayed all his boxing skills and completely neutralized Joet Gonzalez (his girlfriend’s brother) to conquer the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight title in front of 2,828 fans at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Following today’s final press conference, Canelo vs. Kovalev undercard fighters staged an open workout for fans at the MGM Resort and Casino. Those participating included Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs), “Ruthless” Romero Duno (21-1, 16 KOs), Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada (17-0, 7 KOs), Marlen Esparza (7-0, 1 KO) and Blair “The Flair” Cobbs (12-0-1, 8 KOs). Canelo vs. Kovalev will take place Nov. 2, 2019 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be streamed live excusively on DAZN.
