ONE Championship™ (ONE), has just announced a blockbuster main event set for the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. ONE: KINGS OF COURAGE is set for 20 January, and is ONE Championship’s first global broadcast of 2018. In the main event, Tiffany “No Chill” Teo of Singapore will take on “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan of China for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight World Championship.
Filipino standout April Osenio, a Philippine national Wushu champion and a ONE Championship atomweight contender, has added another feather to her cap.
Although it is devoid of martial arts competition, it is a milestone in itself as she has earned a college diploma.
If a teenaged Tiffany “No Chill” Teo could see her adult counterpart, she would be unrecognizable.
As a young girl, the Singaporean martial arts standout was heavily involved in choir activities, which she participated in for a decade.
“I was a nerd when I was a kid. I was not very active,” Teo shared in jest.
Part of ONE Championship’s mission in Asia is to bring its unique vision of authentic martial arts to all corners of the region, from its far reaches to even the wonderful nation of India. ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong is in the country to speak at the prestigious 2017 Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES) and had the opportunity to take part in a private audience with His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
