Returns of the NBA’s first All-Star fan vote were unveiled on Thursday, with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant topping the vote count.
Leading the returns were the Golden State Warriors’ Curry (the Western Conference guard to attract the most votes), who got over 2.58 million votes, while the Brooklyn Nets’ Durant (the Eastern Conference frontcourt player to get the most votes) got 2.36 million.
The Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo (the number two player in the Eastern Conference frontcourt) and the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James (the Western Conference frontcourt player to get the most votes) also got more than 2 million votes from the fans apiece.
The Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan got the most votes in the Eastern Conference guards.
Another Warriors-related surprise: Klay Thompson, who has not played in a single game this year, has more votes than Devin Booker and Chris Paul.
The 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend is set for Feb. 18-20 in Cleveland, Ohio.
