For Quimsa, hope will be the last thing they'll lose. The Santiago team came back from a 17-point deficit to beat San Lorenzo to get into the Basketball Champions League Americas Final on Friday against Flamengo.

"They were effective on the 3-point line and dominated in offensive rebounds in the first half, but then we changed course. In the end, it could have been anyone’s game. Confidence was key so that we were able to get out of the bad times and get back in the game", said Sebastián González, Quimsa's head coach.
González knew how to put together a squad that aligned with what the team had before the break due to the pandemic. He took his time to analyze the upcoming Final that is coming against Flamengo: "It's 40 minutes, it's a Final, just one match. We have the weapons to compete and we have already beaten a great team, so we can do it again. We will give everything, without excuses. The physical issue is important because they all adapted to the intensity that we want to implement in each game. That is what led us to make San Lorenzo effective and reaching the grand final on Friday".Fabián Ramírez Barrios, the MVP of the match against San Lorenzo, recounted his feelings: "I'm happy for the victory. We struggled in the first half, but we knew we could turn it around. After a long wait, it was a very important step for us and for basketball in general. We worked well on keeping protocol and staying organized. Now we want to beat Flamengo, who have showed they have players and rhythm to play more games, but we will do our best".

The Final against Flamengo will be on Friday at 8 p.m. (GMT-3), at the Antel Arena in Montevideo.
