The summer 2017 box office calendar promised us laughter. It also promised that we’d see girls behaving just as badly as the boys. Girls Trip and Rough Night were promoted as the raunchy femme answer to The Hangover and the direct descendant of the ultimate R-rated female comedy Bridesmaids.

However, what we got from summer 2017 was a series of comedic flops -- with Will Ferrell seeing his lowest box office returns with The House, reboots like Baywatch and CHiPs failing to land with audiences, and Rough Night ultimately earning less money to date than last year’s big hit, Bad Moms, did in its opening weekend.

Oscar-winning film and television actor Martin Landau died on Saturday at age 89, ET has learned.

"We are overcome with sadness to report the death of iconic actor Martin Landau, on July 15th, 2017 at 1:30pm at UCLA Medical Center, where he succumbed to unexpected complications during a short hospitalization," representatives for the family wrote in a statement.

Ben Affleck made his first red carpet appearance since news broke of his relationship with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus.

The 44-year-old actor jetted off to St. Paul, Minnesota, for the 2017 Starkey Hearing Foundation awards gala on Sunday. Affleck -- dressed in a dark suit and white dress shirt -- posed solo at the event and gave a moving speech upon being awarded a medal for his humanitarian work with Eastern Congo Initiative.

Wonder Woman diehards, rejoice!
