In observance of All Saints’ Day, Skyway O&M Corp. or SOMCO, the operator of the Skyway System and Naia Expressway, will implement “Oplan Ligtas Biyahe: Undas 2017” from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2.

This will ensure the safety and convenience of the increased number of motorists who will use the expressways to go to pay respects to their departed loved ones in memorial parks and cemeteries in places south of Metro Manila and vice versa, SOMCO said.

Adamson University has refused to cooperate with the National Bureau of Investigation in probing the mauling case against 16 Tau Gamma Phi fraternity members who are enrolled at the school, the parents of the victim—a grandson of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan—said Wednesday.

NBI Agent Nelson Moreno served the subpoena to the university’s Office of Student Affairs, but the Adamson staff did not give him the addresses of the persons involved, nor allowed him and investigators to conduct an ocular on the crime scene, the Pangilinan family said.

Tacloban City – Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez reported that 12,545 housing units are almost fully constructed for the survivors of typhoon Yolanda.

The city was the hardest hit by the typhoon in November 8, 2013, which killed thousands and destroyed houses and other properties.

The Mayor thanked President Rodrigo Duterte in a letter, for the 10,734 houses that are now occupied by the surviving families.

LEGAZPI CITY—The Philippine National Railways South Long Haul Project, spanning some 581 kms from Manila to Matnog, Sorsogon, is on track to its target opening by the second quarter of year 2022.

“Dagos po an Bicol Express (the Bicol Express will push through),” Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Sarte Salceda announced here last week, basing it on the project’s revised funding structure recently approved by the National Economic Development Authority board.
