The 1986 film Top Gun has risen to cult film status in the years following its initial release thanks to its many memorable scenes, quotes, and that Kenny Loggins theme song. A sequel to the film has long been spoken of, but Tom Cruise recently made it official when he confirmed that is was "definitely happening." It's been over 30 years since we've seen the high-flying Maverick, but what would he be without his rival Iceman? Val Kilmer is making sure that everyone knows that he is down to play with the boys once again.

Sometimes actors are given the freedom to run fast and loose with a script, improvising take after take with different jokes and one-liners that the editors can pick and choose for the movie. Only one of these jokes can make it into the final cut, but fans can usually find some of these rejected one-liners finding a second life in the good old blooper reel. Deadpool has been out of Blu-ray and DVD for quite a while, but now the blooper reel has been made available in full for everyone to enjoy. Check it out in the video

When it comes to budgets, Hollywood sequels have notoriously followed a similar pattern for decades: if a movie is a hit, the follow-up needs to be at least double the size. And while there are a fair number of success stories that start this way, it can also sometimes lead to disaster. Fortunately, this isn't a gamble that the John Wick franchise plans on taking with its third installment, as the director has confirmed plans for John Wick: Chapter 3 to exist at the same scale as its predecessors.

Blake Lively is getting in on that Big Little Lies action.

The 29-year-old actress will executive produce and star in the film adaptation of The Husband's Secret, based on the bestselling novel by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty.

According to the press release, Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, "a busy wife, mother and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years...a secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder."

There's a very clear reason why we see so many PG-13 blockbusters hit theaters during the summer: kids are out of school, and it's a perfect time to try and heard them into the local multiplex. This, however, is an approach that the new movie Baywatch tosses to the wind, as star Dwayne Johnson was able to convince the Paramount Pictures to make the film as an R-rated comedy. Why? Both because he felt it would result in a better version of the movie, and because it fits better with his own personal tastes.

Tom Cruise can't deny his need for speed!

The 54-year-old actor announced during an appearance on Australia's Sunrise morning show on Tuesday that Top Gun 2 is officially happening.

"It's true," he said, confirming the long-rumored sequel to the 1986 film as he smiled from ear to ear.
