Having a daughter is every mother’s dream. Having that daughter follow in your footsteps is every mother’s pride.
“I am very happy that being in the medical profession is her passion and I am proud of her,” says Dr. Wilma Lagpacan Nikbin of her only daughter, Dr. Shahideh, an entrepreneur and orthodontist . Dr. Wilma, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist, married Dr.Fazel Nikbin, a Persian Dental surgeon and they have three children.
From the start, it was a juggle. One that Dr. Joan Clarence Morallo has consistently been good at, for the past 10 years.
Dr. Joan was reviewing for the medical board exam when she learned that she was pregnant with her first child. While other to-be-moms would have music played for the fetus to hear, Dr. Joan read out loud her medical reviewers and books to the baby in her tummy. During breaks, she would also read some parenting books.
Oprah called it the toughest job in the world, and we think it just might be. Being the light of our homes, mothers have always been tirelessly and selflessly providing for their loved ones. Thus, on this special day, we want to encourage all the mothers—to treat themselves to a well-deserved pampering.
Bernice Tenorio, 19, initially wanted to take up Accountancy or Engineering in college. But it all changed when she saw her mother up till the wee hours of the morning cooking her baon.
“It started when I saw my mom in the middle of the night, at 3 a.m. and she was still cooking. [I asked her] ‘how can you do that?’ You’re already tired from a whole day of cooking and cleaning the house and you still find time to cook at 3 am, just so I could have packed food for school,” Bernice recalls, as shown in a video on Jolly Eats’s Facebook page.
