Filipino dancers win in Hong Kong

Three Filipino contingents bagged awards at the Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition, an annual contest that promotes dance and cultural exchange.

Members of the Saint Benilde Romancon Dance Company, the official dance company of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Red Arboleda, Mark Juelar, and Cheska Vasallo together with Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance alumnus Michael Patrick De La Tore took home the Gold prize in the Flamenco category. They were choreographed by the College’s Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance chairperson Christine Crame.

DLS-CSB dance majors Aileen Quilatan and Jaja Dapat Sy were likewise awarded Gold for their self-choreographed performance for Latch.

Dance major Jireah Cariaso bagged the Bronze prize for a poem of broken parts choreographed by Kim Clarete.
