The Walking Dead without Rick Grimes? That seems unthinkable, but it's looking like it may become a reality next year.

Andrew Lincoln is poised to walk away from his leading role as Rick Grimes in the ninth season of the zombie apocalypse drama series, according to Collider.

These latest reports have Lincoln appearing in just a half-dozen season nine episodes, before bowing out of The Walking Dead permanently — with producers apparently now making a big pitch to lock down his co-star Norman Reedus as the show's new lead.

The comic writer Stan Lee, co-creator of iconic characters including Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Daredevil and the X-Men, has died aged 95.

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday in honor of his 50 years in show business.
