Tom Cruise is not trying to date Dakota Johnson, despite a report claiming the movie star is pursuing a romance with the actress. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. It’s completely made-up.
It was reported last month that Johnson had split from Chris Martin after nearly two years of dating. Although the breakup rumors remain unconfirmed, the actress and Johnson haven’t been spotted together in several months. According to NW, Cruise is “crushing” on Johnson and has decided to go after her now that she’s reportedly single.
“Ever since he watched Dakota in Fifty Shades of Grey, he’s had the hots for her,” a supposed source tells the outlet. “He’s watched the movie more than once. He doesn’t want to waste any time and is planning on a bold approach when it comes to asking her on a date.”
The alleged insider goes on to assert Cruise is going to have his team “find out what events Dakota is attending” so that he can “walk straight up to her, buy her a drink and ask her out to dinner. No messing around.” The questionable tipster, however, further contends Johnson “loves to be wooed,” so Cruise “should make sure he’s got some good chat up his sleeve or she won’t be interested.”
The tabloid’s report is a complete work of fiction. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us the magazine’s article is totally fabricated. We’re told Cruise doesn’t have his eye on Johnson and hasn’t asked anyone in his camp to track her down. The outlet’s attempt at a love connection between the two stars is random and baseless.
Unfortunately, the unreliable tabloid frequent concocts phony narratives about the Mission: Impossible star. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Cruise had given Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx his blessing to get married. In reality, Holmes and Foxx never walked down the aisle, and they never asked her ex-husband for permission to wed.
Also last year, Gossip Cop called out the publication for wrongly reporting Cruise was battling Holmes for equal custody of their daughter Suri. The actor, however, has been estranged from his daughter for several years and that still remains the case. It’s clear the magazine knows very little about the movie star’s personal life, including who he intends to date. Cruise simply isn’t pursuing a romance with Johnson.
