Moira dela Torre’s major win at MOR Pinoy Music Awards

Singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre received the award for Female Artist of the Year at the MOR Pinoy Music Awards 2018 held on July 21 at the Araneta Coliseum. The 24-year-old pop artist along with JK Labajo and Maymay Entrata, bagged the three most coveted awards.

JK, also known as Juan Karlos, brought home the Album of the Year award for JKL and the OPM Revival of the Year award for “Beautiful Girl.” 

 Maymay won Song of the Year for “Shanawa” and thanked her colleagues and fans through a video message. 

 MOR 101.9 also recognized songwriter Vehnee Saturno, who was named this year’s OPM Lifetime Achievement awardee. His prolific songwriting career, which spans 38 years, was given a moving tribute by some of the most recognizable voices in OPM. 

 Viral rap group Ex Batallion, meanwhile, became the first Digital Artist of the Year, which was introduced this year to acknowledge the role that social media and digital online platforms play in promoting original Pinoy music.

Iñigo Pascual took home the Male Artist of the Year award, while his love team partner Maris Racal was named Best New Artist. 

Jona and Boyband PH also won Best Collaboration of the Year for their song “Til the End of Time,” while TNT Records singer Noven Belleza won LSS of the Year for “Tumahan Ka Na.” 

 Cebu’s Karencitta was awarded Regional Song of the Year for “Cebuana,” and Cherifer took the Kantamercial of the Year award.
