The Chinito Crooners will pay tribute to timeless and classic love songs in a one night only event.  We all know that Richard Poon is a great performer, but Richard Yap can actually sing too.

Most popularly known as “Sir Chief” on “Be Careful With My Heart,” Richard Yap released his first album at 46, hailing it as a dream come true.  The self-titled debut album, released in 2013, featured nine covers picked by Richard himself. The titles range from Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars,” a Chinese version of “Babe,” and its carrier single “Don’t Know What to Do, Don’t Know What to Say.”

Richard Poon, on the other hand, got his start in music at a very young age. He made a name for himself by singing at various lounges across the Metro with his band U-Turn until he, eventually, went solo.  His first solo album in 2007 reached Platinum status and, having released five more successful albums since then, he’s known as one of the Philippines’ most distinguished artists.

Poon is known for making pop music out of what is basically in the jazz genre category.  Poon cites Harry Connick, Michael Buble and Jose Mari Chan as having influenced his singing style.

Cornerstone and Star Events promise a night filled with kilig and classic love songs with “Richard x Richard:  The Chinito Crooners”!  Actor Richard Yap and singer Richard Poon will team up for the first time this August 26, 8pm, at The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort & Casino, Paranaque City.
