‘Really sick’ Ariana pulls through for Pinoy fans

THERE were talks she would be late as she was under the weather, but when Ariana Grande hit her first note at the Mall of Asia Arena on Monday, August 21, she dispelled all fears that she was not okay.

“Thank you guys! I’m really sick today but you guys made me feel so much better!” divulged the pop star at the Smart Music Live-sponsored Manila staging of her “Dangerous Woman Tour” last August 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Mahal kita!” she added to the delight of the whole arena.

In a separate Instagram post after her two-hour concert, the artist poured more love for fans – Arianators – saying, “Manila, I love you always! Thank you for having me and for always bringing me so much light! Whenever I’m under the weather, you give me so much life.”

She added, “Thank you for your love, your sincerity, your sense of humor and overall you-ness. You stay recharging me. I love you with all my heart and appreciate you more than you know. Mahal kita!”

Grande, all-grown up and showing the world how to rise above a tragedy as devastating as the Manchester bombing that happened during her concert, asserted her hold over a sold-out concert in spite of the rains Monday night in Manila.

With about 10 dancers joining her, Grande stretched her vocals and dance moves while singing hits “One Last Time,” “Let Me Love You,” “Bad Decisions,” “Touch It,” “Leave Me Lonely,” “Bang Bang,” “Love Me Harder,” “Break Free,” “Into You,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and “Dangerous Woman,” among many other hits.

Fans were able to watch the concert for free via Smart Music Live and #SmartArianaGrande promos. These Smart subscribers were also able to live the concert day a la Ariana on tour via the Smart Party Bus, pre-concert event.

Smart has brought Sam Mendes, David Guetta, In the Mix and will soon be bringing Ed Sheeran later this year to keep its concert campaign ruling the scene.

Only four days separated In the Mix from Ariana’s concert as 5 Seconds of Summer bannered the all-star concert alongside DNCE, Daya, Dua Lipa, Two Door Cinema Club and Zara Larsson last Aug. 17 also at the Arena.
