From Walter White to the Red Ranger! Bryan Cranston stopped by The Late Show on Monday dressed as the Red Ranger.
After host, Stephen Colbert, introduced the 61-year-old Breaking Bad actor as “one of the finest, most distinguished actors of our generation,” Cranston walked out in full costume, kicking high in the air before grabbing his back.
“Thank you, Stephen, I do try to approach each character with a level of dignity,” Cranston quipped while stuck in the Ranger helmet.
Though he’s not a Power Ranger himself, Cranston did say, “I’ve always wanted to be a Ranger.”
Instead, Cranston is playing the head of Zordon, which prompted Colbert to note that he probably sat around in his sweatpants while filming.
“That’s not the reason I took the job, Stephen, if that’s what you’re saying,” Cranston insisted. “When I did just the head, I was nude. I have a nudity clause in every contract, but it’s the opposite of what you think. I have to be naked every time.”
This isn’t the first time Cranston has been linked to the Power Rangers. Back in the ‘90s, he voiced many of the popular TV show’s villains.
"I always did the monsters and things: 'You will not escape me!' that kind of thing," Cranston explained to ET's Ashley Crossan on set earlier this month. "That was a long time ago."
