On hand this weekend to announce her role as Thena in Eternals, the Marvel blockbuster film series coming next year, Angelina Jolie graced the stage at the San Diego Convention Center in a Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello dress. Minimal yet undeniably sexy, the asymmetrical look continues Jolie’s winning streak of all-black fashions that highlight her toned physique and love of understated design.
Accented by gold Cactus de Cartier earrings and a matching ring, it was an outfit that subtly channeled the goddess vibe of her character—she is an immortal heroine with superhuman strength after all—without going too costume-y. As always, Jolie and her stylist Jen Rade kept things simple, making the most of a sleek silhouette. The strategic cutouts added visual interest to a dress that could have seemed standard, while also offering a glimpse of the actress's famous tattoos—giving it just the right dose of Jolie-appropriate edge.
